Hello there,

Thank you for booking your 60-75 minute Communication Strategy Session - I’m looking forward to working with you.

You will receive an email from me via Calendly confirming the time and date of your Session and giving you the joining instructions for our videocall – this will be via Zoom and is completely free for you to use.

Joining Our Videocall via a Laptop or PC

Click on the link in the Calendly email and it should direct you straight to our Session via the Zoom website. If you are asked for a Meeting ID, this will be the string of digits at the end of the joining link.

If you would rather set up the free Zoom Client for Meetings app on your laptop or PC in advance of our videocall, so you can familiarise yourself with it, you can download it from here: www.zoom.us

Your Communication Challenge

Shortly, I will email you a brief questionnaire about the Communication Challenge you would like to work on in your Session.

The questionnaire is designed around a real-life, specific upcoming conversation between you and another person.

This conversation may be one in a series of conversations you have had with them around a developing situation, or it may be the first time you will be raising the conversation content with them.

Either of these situations is ideal for us to work with – and we will explore and develop approaches for you to get the outcome that you want from the conversation.

Please be aware that if your Communication Challenge is generic or a composite example, it can be more difficult identifying and developing effective approaches.

Completing the Questionnaire

The questionnaire is a thought-starter so that you come to your Session with a clear example (or examples!) and we can get straight to work.

Feel free to include as much detail as you would like (writing things down can really help to clarify our thinking) and during our Session I will also ask you to talk further to me about some of the information you have provided.

Our Session and the completed questionnaire will remain entirely confidential so you can use the other person’s real name, if you wish (real names invariably pop out no matter how hard we try to anonymise the other person!)

Please email your completed questionnaire back to me no less than 24 hours before your scheduled Communication Strategy Session

What If Your Communication Challenge Is Something Other than a Conversation?

That’s ok.

Please email me as much detail as you can about why this is a Challenge for you.

Feel free to complete the questionnaire if it addresses elements of your Challenge.

If your Challenge is a presentation of any sort, a pitch, or a case you need to make, please email me any materials that you will be using when you address this Challenge for real – along with some information to help me understand any necessary background or context.

Please email any relevant material to me no less than 24 hours before your scheduled Communication Strategy Session

Checking in Two Weeks After Your Communication Strategy Session

Striking while the iron’s hot”. “Use it. Or lose it.” “Just do it.” There are many clichés we attach to doing something in a timely fashion; but just because they’re clichés doesn’t mean they’re not true.

But you’ve come to me because you have a Communication Challenge, so I understand that even after our Session your Challenge may still feel intimidating - although less so.

This check-in is about providing you with support. If you’ve addressed your Challenge, I will celebrate that with you; if you’ve achieved the outcome you wanted, we will high-five (albeit virtually); and we’ll make sure you can identify the things you did and said that got you that outcome – because when you know precisely what the elements were that made you brilliant, you can be brilliant again, and again.

And if you haven’t addressed your Challenge, we will talk about what’s stopped you and how you can make sure you do address it.

The check-in will take place over Voxer. It’s free and you’ll need to download it to your smartphone or other device from here: https://www.voxer.com/individuals

If you’re not familiar with Voxer, it’s an app which allows us to speak to each other in almost real-time but with convenience, so we don’t have to put aside time for a call.

Finally...

If you have any further questions about your Communication Strategy Session, drop me an email. Otherwise, I look forward to receiving your completed questionnaire, or materials, and to meeting you online when we’ll develop a strategy to overcome your Communication Challenge.
